A slice of the Big Apple in the middle of the Irish Sea.

Loft 11 is a purpose-built boutique tourist apartment focussed on luxury, comfort and style. Vibrantly designed with the purpose of creating a next-level accommodation experience for guests - an unrivalled home-away-from-home.

The loft is the result of an extensive refurbishment to the upper floor of a historic building dating back to the late 1800s on the Isle of Man capital's main shopping street, located above coffee and cocktail bar, Henderson & Glass.

Loft 11 has an open-plan entertaining space with galley kitchen, lounge, dining area, two luxurious double bedrooms, large shower room, mezzanine cinema room and private bar. Indulgent details include a Marshall speaker, a vinyl record player with a carefully edited selection of retro vinyl LPs, an Indian Sunburst electric guitar with amplifier, a water rowing machine, Malin & Goetz toiletries, and high thread-count Egyptian cotton bedding.

Measuring 1,200 square feet, the loft is the perfect size to showcase Rehab Squared's style confidence. Its laidback yet sophisticated vibe simultaneously connects and separates authentic materials, colours and textures resulting in a fascinating and imaginative space.

The interior design has been thoughtfully considered, taking full advantage of the building's period features such as the high ceilings and 19th century oak beams, which are juxtaposed with contemporary elements such as a black steel framed mezzanine floor suspended above the main living area.

The loft has been designed with a narrative-rich interior; throughout the space, unique decorative elements add a playful twist, such as the Indian motorcycle that hangs from the ceiling - a nod to the Island's biker heritage - and a suspended vintage distressed leather punch bag with boxing gloves.

The custom wall art enhances the loft's adventurous style, with hand-painted vintage signs and customised large-scale graphic prints embracing iconic moments in popular culture. Hand-picked furniture by iconic British designers - including a green palm print L-shaped sofa by Timothy Oulton and quirky metal letter side tables by Andrew Martin - add international interest. Essentially, unique Instagrammable moments have been purposely created for guests to both indulge in and share.

The loft enjoys a vast array of multi-layered lighting which adds another dimension to the overall design. The main room features black matt wide beam spotlights plus a pair of oversized spherical 8-light chandeliers that are dropped into the centre; the eye is immediately drawn to the multi-coloured large-scale hand-painted vintage carnival light on the back wall, and two aptly positioned lamps - a floor-standing movie tripod and a vintage telephone on a side table - complete the scene. The majority of the lights were deliberately put on dimmers so that the perfect ambience can be created at a moment’s notice.

The warm, natural elements of the loft are integral and dynamic components of the interior style - numerous live plants (mirroring the palm pattern of the sofa), the exposed Manx stone walls, and the original aged wooden plank flooring provide a reassuring, retrograde appeal. The harder, colder, more industrial elements such as the knurled brass light switches and handles, together with the black powder coated mesh steel balustrades work in contrast against the more traditional elements, readdressing the balance of the space, creating timeless appeal.
